Help Us Fill the Gaps
The USDA Local Food Directory is a great starting point, but it's far from complete. Here's what we've found:
41%
of listings have no website
~30%
missing descriptions
~15%
have address issues
???
local growers not listed at all
What's Missing
- Small family farms, backyard growers, and homesteaders who sell at the gate
- New farmers markets and pop-up markets not yet in the USDA database
- Community gardens, food co-ops, and neighborhood exchanges
- Updated hours, websites, and contact info for existing listings
- Accurate descriptions of what's available and when
How You Can Help
- Know a local grower or market? Add a listing and we'll verify it
- See something wrong? Let us know — corrections keep the data trustworthy
- Spread the word — share Garden Finder with friends and neighbors
- Want to help moderate listings? Create an account and reach out
Add a Local Food Source
Know a farm stand, market, or food hub that's not listed? Help your neighbors find it.
Submit a ListingData Sources
Garden Finder combines data from the USDA Local Food Portal with community-submitted listings. USDA results are tagged as "USDA Directory" and community-verified listings are tagged accordingly.
Our goal is a trustworthy, comprehensive directory where every local food source gets found.
